Basil Rajapaksa appointed SLFP national Organiser

[27.02.2013] The SLFP Central Committee last night(27) decided to appoint Economic Development Minister Basil Rajapaksa as the party’s National Organiser. The unanimous decision was taken at the central committee meeting held under the patronage of President Mahinda Rajapaksa at Temple Trees. The post of National Organizer fell vacant following the death of former Minister Anuruddha Ratwatte.

High yields from new crop Divi Neguma introduced

[26.02.2013] Harvesting the yields of 500,000 moringa oleifera plants the Economic Development Ministry distributed among people of different districts in the island under stage 3 of the Divi Neguma National programme has now commenced. Economic Development Minister Basil Rajapaksa yesterday examined the yields of this short murunga plant which President Mahinda Rajapaksa had planted at the Ministry of Finance and Planning – Treasury premises.
