Hon. Basil Rohana Rajapaksa, Senior adviser to the President and Minister of Economic Development  laid the foundation stone for Uduudumulla Anicut in Alayadiwerum divisional Secretariat area on 29th August.

This new anicut will cover 700 hectares agriculture area and more than 500 families. Paddy, fruits and vegetable farmers will gain direct benefits from this acinut construction project and indirect benefit may be on water for livestock, domestic use and support to environment.

Members of Parliament Sarath Weerasekara, Mrs. Sriyani Wijewickrama also participated at this occasion.
