Sacred Kapilavastupura Relics return to India

Sacred Kapilavastupura Relics brought to Sri Lanka on 19 August 2012 was taken back to India today (12) afternoon. In a ceremony held at the Colombo
International Airport, hundreds of Buddhist monks chanted pirith before the Sacred Kapilavastu Relics leave Sri Lanka for India.
During the 25 days of exposition at ten venues, devotees paid homage to the Sacred Relics. The exposition was organized at: Kapilawasthu Hall, Manel Watta Maha Viharaya, Kelaniya, Rajamaha Viharaya, Pelmadulla, Jayanthi Viharaya, Anuradhapura, Agrabodhi Viharaya, Kantale, Naranvita Temple, Gampola, Sri Sumangala Pirivena, Wariyapola, Matara Bodhiya, Matara, Tissamaharama Viharaya, Tissamaharama, Gangaramaya Viharaya and Kelaniya Rajamaha Viharaya.
Mahanayaka theros, Members of the Maha Sangha, Hon. Basil Rohana Rajapaksa, Senior Adviser to the President and Minister of Economic Development, Speaker Chamal Rajapaksa, MP, Namal Rajapaksa, Ministers and number of Senior Officials also participated at this occasion.
