Northern Province to get Central Bank branch
Under the auspices of the Economic Development Ministry a foundation stone will be placed for the construction work of the Northern Province Central Bank branch at Killinochchi by the Economic Development Minister Basil Rajapaksa Monday (August 12).
“Under the first phase of the project, the nine storied building with a length of 30 feet 60 feet width will be built. The total cost of the project estimated to be around at Rs. 150 million.” Central Bank Governor Ajith Cabrarl said.
The planned building will be comprised of a training center, fully equipped auditorium with a seating capacity of 200, office rooms and a Central Bank publications centre. On completion of the first phase, the second phase will include a residential house for the Central Bank Killinochchi Regional Manager and residential quarters for bank employees.
Traditional Industries and Small Enterprise Development Minister Douglas Devananda, Kilinochchi District Parliamentarian Murugesu Chandrakumara, Governor of Northern Province GA Chandrasiri and Central Bank Governor Ajith Nivaard Cabrarl accompanied the Minister Basil Rajapaksa during the ceremony.
